I don't dislike the wizard's character because she doesn't use mana, I dislike it because she's the Diablo version of Wesley Crusher, Wolverine, or every other anime character.|||Quote:

Please explain this statement as I'm completely lost?|||I thought the mana system worked quite well for the other Diablo games.
If it ain't broke, why fix it? Well, I've give the Devs the benefit of the doubt. They're smart and experienced enough to know, that if you're going to change a major gameplay feature or try to innovate in a series, if it doesn't make the game more fun to play, they fail.
In D2, at lower levels & with non twinked characters, you had to scrounge for every mana potion, be careful and tactical where and how you used your skills so you wouldn't waste your mana. When you finally got items that boosted mana it helped a lot. It gave you more freedom and staying power. Sometimes you had to choose between items with extra mana or items with other bonuses. Overall I think mana was a really good idea and worked well in the games.
I don't know if a caster without mana is like a barb without whirlwind or dual wield, but at the same time I can understand some people thinking "WTF? No mana?" To them it seems like a core element of a caster class.
Sacred 1 and 2 had no mana, the game just relied on a balance between skill level and skill cooldowns. Casters are still fun to play.|||Quote:

Lol. Wizard look is far from anime style.|||Quote:

I don't think Funkopotamus meant she looks like anime characters but rather that her personality is like some anime stereotypes (and not every character of anime are the same cause there are hundreds of interesting characters in good animes) .... yeah, every genre and medium does have stereotypes Funkopotamus ... but guess what .. real life does have stereotypes too ... it's not like prodigies and highly talented intelligent rebellious youth don't exist in real life.
All that matters with the D3 wiz is how well they handle the details of the character story, voice acting and such and simply don't over do any of them so the character doesn't feel cheesy.|||Anything without mana sux, and you know why? Because characters without mana dont need inteligence which means they are stupid, like barbarian or monk for instance.
Thats how RPiers think.
I dont give a s**t for mana, I just care for balance. As long as its balanced it will rule.|||I like the idea. Especially for hardcore. It makes for a very challenging senerio. You have to be careful when using that much power.|||Quote:

Mana =/= intelligence.
Mana = (spiritual) energy. d2 just used it for stamina as well (not the walking crap, the ability to attack).|||they fear the unknown.|||Quote:
