Pvp Wizard - build? - Page 33

You are a WWsin on D2, who duels barbs. You of all people should know that numbers doesn't matter. Skill does! That's why we win against the odds.

Yes. I've also used zeal sorcs against zealots and vice versa. It isn't pretty for the sorc, and they can stack amazing damage mitigation + damage output.

Frequently being in uphill battles makes you know your limitations quite intimately.|||Quote:

You call this a healthy back-and-forth, i'd hate to see you on a bad day.

This thread has gone the past 25 pages trying to define what's melee and what isn't. Twenty five. And it's not even that important.

You sure you don't just want to win the argument?

Also it's kind of a bit late to get back on topic here

I'm bipolar, and have OCD. Yawn! Having an argument, and not having a common ground is natural. Collective input is vital. So instead of lurking, and sulking up to the mods, you could've added some points and helped us resolve the matter earlier.

Of course winning an argument is the object. Why engage in an argument when you're half-assed in your convictions. This is a forum, and different perspectives are meant to clash.

No offense, but I find Sass' stubbornness more tolerable than your entre grande, and coup de grce mentality. But do as you must, and have a nice day!

@Jaago, E.Blast might be a cool gank skill vs ranged characters, if timed correctly and used with teleport. Time bubble is a really awesome skill that could be used offensively/defensively, versatile skills like those must be in the build because of the 7 skill limit.

I agree, traits have been changing sporadically, but the general framework is there, and I'm fine with that(If they don't remove the 30% life/mana leech). Hopefully, we'll see more items such as uniques and sets tailor-made for melee wizards...|||Quote:

I think I would rather spend more time putting out campfires with my face than spend time debating the senselessnes whether or not something is melee or not.

But by all means, if it means so much to you go ahead, I'll make sure to stay out of it

Well, I wouldn't exactly call E. Blast a versatile skill. It gives few new opportunities to the gameplay of the MW, but rather enhances the builds core concept and might well be the thing that makes it viable. Anyways, now that I really think about it, E. Blast seems very relevant for the build; it doesn't seem very probable that Magic Weapon alone could dish out enough damage (even with the 30% dual leech) to make it profitable to enter melee against Barbs and Monks. But maybe casting Blizzard on the target instead (or even on top of both?) could be just as damaging, and that spell would grant the build some great long-range artillery as well. I just want to test all the options so bad. About the relevance of Slow Time I couldn't agree more.

I'm sure they will put in several items with MW in mind, but the worth of those items can only be seen with the finished game...|||Quote:

What a witty and mature comeback. With a picture too! How cool!

LOL, I'll tuck you in. We don't need your high and mighty wit and wisdom here. You should go make the world a better place by all means, put wildfires out with your face. GOOOOOO PLANETTTT!!

Yawn.

Yes the items! Can't wait for beta to start.

Barbs should be a pain in the butt. But this build seem pretty solid, and seem like a burst damage-type of character, which is kinda good for ganking. Fighting head-on would mean death though.

Hydra with arcane is kinda interesting, although we have yet to see the rune effects of other potential melee-wiz skills.

Slow Time, is really a great skill, even without runes. I'm still hoping for a DoT Slow Time bubble.

This build's versatility is greatly improved by the new attribute system, wheras one stat increases both magic, and physical attack. It is kinda "dumbed down" but the change suits the melee wizards more than other builds, because of the increase of 2 kinds of attacks with one stat.

I agree though, we are still in the dark with the build's central skill, Magic Weapon!|||Quote:

So we need to team up with at least one heavy guy. We have burst damage, freeze and Slow Time to offer, and we need a tank. Barbs are the most durable partners, can stun enemies, and have the armor shout. Monks can hardly take any more hits than the MW, but they can heal and remove disabilities from team members. To me the Barb seems a bit more appealing, especially with the off-hand possibility that some Wizard skills' rune effects might give a cleansing ability. (My money is on Teleport.)

Funny how this is about the only build that might have used attacks based on both strength and willpower beyond the first levels in the old system. :P
