(not a hate thread) problems with wizard. - Page 3

Wow now people are complaining that the wizard is too young and the monk is too old... nothing will ever satisfy anyone. But once the game's out everyone will just shut up

The disk isn't in my drive yet, why can't I install.

/whine.

I think the wiz young fits. Can't wait to play ACTUAL kids raging |||Quote:

When it is something as insignificant as backstory which will have zero impact on the mechanics of a wizard anyways, why not? I am not pretending it doesn't exist, I am simply accepting that it is impossible for blizzard to come up with a backstory which pleases everyone, and that I am entirely free to reflavour my characters however I want to suit my own personal tastes, regardless of how they were initially portrayed.

Much easier and more productive than whining endlessly about it, IMO.

Did it countless times when I was playing dnd. Many abilities often came with prepackaged flavour that tend to be incompatible with the flavour of my character. So I simply revised their lore to fit into my PC's backstory. And not once has my campaign suffered because of it.

Remember though it isn't just backstory in D3. All throughout the game in D3 your character will be having dialogue you will be listening to.|||Quote:

Pretty much this.

I also must agree that the arrogant behavior of the wizard is offputting.

On the other hand, it could be fun you know. If you become REALLY good at playing the wizard, your char will actually have a reason to be that arrogant. Besides, if your wizard is as good as she is arrogant (and remember, you're the one who makes her good because you play her), then you're good |||Quote:

He do not like how wizard act, plus you cannot just pretend that something do not exist because you do not like it.

I understand OP and agree with him, i am for old ,powerful wise mage too, not a arrogant, rebel Asian teen...

Please keep the racial remarks off the boards.

Thanks.|||I quite enjoy it and it makes a lot of sense really. A fun and underutilized character type as a hero/antihero (the powerful egomaniac). I can see the other side though. Wizards are traditionally older, sage persons who mastered the arcane/magic over a long period of time. Its such an established archetype that its incredibly rare to deviate from it (any non-sage mage is automatically evil/a demon sorcerer). The same goes with the monk, who is often characterized as a younger fighter whose brash yet learning to control his (inherently) superior potencial. Here its more a holy harded warrior. The WD put off people because, well, its not a very common main hero. I'm really enjoying the direction with the new cast but it does rub against many established archetypes that people have assumed standard.|||As long as her killing speed is on par with the sorceress then whatever lore by whoever wrote it in Blizzard is fine by me.

I'm impressed with the preview video a while back. It's the one with the cinematic of her going against King Leoric with those gameplay videos inserted.|||Quote:

I agree with this. Killing speed was one of the trademarks of the diablo casters and I definitely support this notion.|||"slex lord of hatred" no doubt the barbarian will own because some of his skills are totally awesome and he looks like the hulk, but i am pretty sure all the characters will in their own way and against a particular foe be deadly. You have to remember, that diablo 3 will be much more complex, when it comes to character building, because you are able to specialize even more with your character using different runes to change your skills and thus your tactics on the battlefield. Anyway if you dont like the arrogant female, then just choose the male wizard, which i will probably do hehe|||Quote:

Compared to all the exagerated whining we get today? Yes, they will.

They'll be too much occupied playing the damn game to complain about anything, bottom line
