Imo, the male wizard was totally Dynasty Warrior inspired... it's got that asian rockstar heavy armor, some retarded helmet and a young, feminine face that some of the DW characters have. I'm ok with it, I just wish they'd change the freakin helmet.|||*grab hold onto the handles of the male wizards head and twist sharply*
*snap the male wizard falls dead down with a broken neck*
seriously i can handle the popstar look just fine but why the heck cant characters ever get decent looking equipment that wont make it easier for the monsters to kill them?
Im not asking for realism although it would be hilarious to see the average gamer face off against an enemy fully clad in fullplate armor if we had some realism. |||Why does he look into the ground instead of strait ahead? Why does he have this metro or whatever look? He's a fighter, he'd sooner be scarred then having a baby face like this. To me this character blends in with the rainbows, snow white unicorn and clean/spotless dungeons where so many players complained about. I don't like it.
I think his body looks cool although the way he moves feels a bit unnatural. Overall i think Blizzard could do way better then this.|||Quote:

It's because he's vain and self absorbed. It's in the Wizard's back story (though it describes the female Wizard, I suspect his is supposed to be similar if not identical). Hence, think Vega (a.k.a. Balrog if you're from Japan, in which case there's no need to explain) from Street Fighter rather than Zangief.|||If you look at the article I did about the male wizard's pose, it's got links to and descriptions of every character's pose. And all 7 so far revealed are either looking down, or have their heads down, or both.
My speculation is that this is a game art thing; that in the isometric view the characters look weird if they're looking up, or even straight ahead. Perhaps from the overhead POV they look like they're staring back up at the player? I asked Bashiok about that and he agreed; he thought it was due to some game art requirement, though he didn't know for a fact.
It's just especially noticeable with the male wizard, since he's head-down, looking down, and has a soft mouth and expression, so everything combines to make him look wimpy and submissive; at least to some loud commenters.|||I'd rather have him look just a bit more confident/arrogant/bad :P.
The female Wizard has a "you want pounding, come and get it " type of expression.
Hope they tweak it just a bit more.|||What do they need to tweak, when you actually won't see his face ingame, as there is not cutscenes closeups and char is being viewed from really high up view?
You will be studying your monitor with magnifying glass to see hes expression?|||Actually if you recall, in the 20 minute gameplay video, Blizzard released there was a cutscene between Cain and the Barbarian where it was like a movie dialog.|||But they resignatied from that idea later on development, as it would slow down gameplay.|||Hmm i like the way the D2 characters look and move. We will most likely see the char model from close up when we create a new character in D3. In D2 this looks awesome, the barb and the assassin are my favourites. I dont know how they plan to do this in D3 but the models should be more fierce IMO
