Hmm i like the way the D2 characters look and move.
You mean you liked the way the pally ran?
i though it was one of the silliest things ever|||Quote:

Also the Barb's shout was somewhat funny...
IMO the only fierce animation on D2's selection screen was the Necromancer's... And he was the most frail character to me...
----------------
Anyways, if the Male Wizard was different these could be the fan reactions:
If he was older: "Man, why do all D3 male classes have to be so damn old? Just look at the Monk with his bushy beard, at the Barb with his white hair and let's not even speak of the WD's awful hunch back... The wizard should be younger IMO, after all the female wiz is also young..."
If he looked stronger and less "femenine": "If he is a Wizard why does he need to look strong... I mean, it's his spells that make him strong, he doesn't need all the muscles... Too much Vegas-magician styled for my taste"
If he didn't look a bit asian: "I don't understand... If the female Wiz is Asian-inspired (as she comes from Xiansai) why the helll isn't the male wiz too?... Blizzard are being strange on this decision"
If he didn't have that helmet and armor: "I just don't get why are blizzard so much going against armors. Mainly in the case of this wizard, some armor and arcany-like helmes, you know crazy almost sci-fi stuff, would look interesting" (Alright I may have exaggerated a bit on this one)
... My point is, no matter how would the Male Wizard look, there would still be a lot of raging fans somewhere...
About looking downside... yep, all characters have it. It's an isometric view issue...|||Quote:

Nah i meant the char selection screen realy. Although i never noticed the pally run in a silly way when playing him.

Well i'd say the barb in D2 is clearly the winner. Necro looks cool, cold and determined (but not fierce)
Then i don't get your point about the isometric view. This is true when you play the game ofcourse but i was talking about the character selection screen. Unless we see the character from above when we select him/her but i think that won't be the case. Most likely we will see the character model from close up, just like they are showing them. In that situation they could realy look better then they do now.|||Quote:

Quite agreed actually... They should make different high-poly versions for the selection screen... just like they do portraits for Sc2 units...|||I think... you guys who think the wizard looks too femenine, should have a look at this video and then make the comparison again. Just ignore some of them and pay special attention to 0:48, 1:03 and several others.

In my own eyes, the male wizard actually looks normal, where as the barbarian is the one who is way out of proportion. I'm not saying that it is bad, because different cultures has different points of view. I just think that Caucasian cultures don't realise that East Asians aren't as buff, especially below the age of 29, where most boys still look like boys. Considering that the lore made him in his early adulthood, probably 20 or so(?), he (the game model) looks much older than that in fact.
But I also think that this is a very nice detail the developers have spent time to research, rather than just making an Asian face and stick it on a Caucasian body.|||I have absolutely no problem with femininity/metrosexuality/boy bands, I've been known to listen to glam on occasion *cough*
The face looks too feminine, though. Looks more like an ugly woman than a pretty man.
Also, I'd rather a blue get-up than red. Wizardry is blue, melee is red; and I don't see our hero wielding two bastard swords in the shot, so more blue, please.|||Hmmm, they could've made him more serious-looking by making his darkgrey clothes actually black and give him a short black beard. The 3 scrolls in his belt look like a nice detail.
I don't get 2 things though:
1) Why isn't he Asian as well?
2) What's with the friggin' bellydancing....?|||Quote:

1) Eh... he isn't? Well, yeah he isn't remarkably asian, I guess... but it ain't that different.
2) Well, that's because when you model something for a game, you must make sure the animations are understandable from far (therefore you make the animation a wee bit more exaggerated), we don't see the model so near while playing, so it doesn't matter so much.
I somewhat agree though, they should make high-poly versions of each class for the class selection screen...|||Quote:

:O Pivot on the right, stepping off with the left. Spin kick to the head and land in the exact same spot. Bruce Lee guard.
But really, the Druid's was the best. Ominous "kill you" sign and then comes the wolf. OMG.
@ topic: I like the body armor, though would like Blue more. The helm is a no for me. He does look young, which is great. It's harder to tell in a still shot, but he has a stern expression like he's thinking, but the get up has the vibe that he's going to be unpredictable. He looks fine, but I'd still play the female Wiz.|||It isn't what I was expecting, but I really like it.(Everything but the helmet, that is.)
