A wizard spell idea so good I had to post my own thread..

So the idea is this:

The wizard walks into a room filled with enemies, casts a Debris Hurl spell, and all the destructibles come loose and go hurling at the enemies (a la Darth Vader in Return of the Jedi).

This spell would be a higher level spell that would depend on the amount of destructibles in a room (book cases, cracked walls, vases, etc), but would end up doing massive damage. It might also pick up dropped weaponry and items and hurl them at higher levels.

I can't reset my password for the regular Diablo III forum. Would someone please throw this idea on the forum there so the powers that be could pick it up and put it in the game! I love the idea of interacting with destructibles with spells like this...|||So basically you use this spell only once per area? How about the desert surroundings with less destructibles? I just really can't tune into the same feeling you are having atm. |||The wizard already has a skill like this called Wave of force

http://www.diablowiki.net/Wave_of_Force|||I thought you were going for one of those, "a monk, a rabbi, and a priest walk into a bar" jokes there, at the start. Try that angle, next time?|||This is unlike Wave of Force in that the destructibles become the weapons that get hurled inward at the enemies. In Jedi terms, this is like ripping stuff off with the force and hurling it at your opponents.

In some areas it wouldn't be that effective (as mentioned the Desert areas with few destructibles) but in those areas that did have destructibles, it would be deadly, a definite trade-off. The feeling, however, of using the spell well would be pretty cool.|||I don't know about ALL the destructables. How about bringing back the telekinesis spell and letting it be used to pick up one destructable to hurl at an enemy. It could have the additional purpose that it has in Diablo 2 of picking up small items like potions or opening doors from a distance. Oh, and letting it be used to knock back/stun monsters or pick a monster up and throw him depending on your skill level.|||It could be some kind of "Arcane Whirlwind" which would be on a huge area, damages enemies AND moves debris crazingly. That way the spell could be useful in non-debris situations.|||Won't that simply be the equivalent of the apocalypse spell from D1, just with different graphics? Essentially an AoE spell which targets every foe on the screen.

It could theoretically work in debris-less environments as well, if the designers interpret sand and stone as debris which can be animated and flung around.|||Quote:

Lol, wasnt that bad.

To OP: You have to realise a spell is cool in theory, in practice its another thing. Look at how much they scratched their heads over Seismic Slam, down to little details like the sound of it (They kept saying it didnt sound right lol).

A spell like this requires there be destructibles in every area, and also probably takes a huge toll on the performance through all the physics involved (I'm no expert, Im just guessing). Also its kinda weird seeing demons getting hurt by chairs and bookcases.|||This is actually a cool idea imo.

You could make it bit more diverse. Make it like Sorcerer Telekinesis as someone mentioned. If targetted to monster it hits them for little damage and knockbacks them. If targetted to destructibles it would hurl them on monster for some damage, and then it could be used for triggering collapsing objects. The old Telekinesis would make better name too imo.
